Tech checklist

The tech checklist puts a short list of steps on every job line on the tech screen, like Torque left front wheel to spec, Pump brakes before moving car or Reset maintenance light. The tech taps each step when it's done, and TotalBay saves who checked it and when. It's a reminder level for new techs.

Turn it on or off

Sign in as the admin and open Settings → Tech checklist. Untick it to hide the checklist everywhere.
Require every step: a tech can't press Finish on a line until every step is checked.
Require for this tech: tick it next to a new tech's name so only that tech has to check every step.

Templates

Each job line gets a template by its canned job or name: brakes, oil change, tires / rotation, battery, alternator, struts, coolant, or general. A few end of every job steps are added to all of them (lug nuts torqued, tools out of the engine bay, no leaks, test drive). Edit the steps in Settings, one per line. Add | lug nuts (or another part) after a step to show its torque spec on that step. The spec follows the same rules as the tech copy, so a safety part without a shop-confirmed spec says to get it from the office.

On the ticket and Day board

Day board cards show progress like Checklist 6/8. It turns red when required steps are still open.
On the ticket, press Who checked what to see each step, who checked it and when. Pressing Car is ready with required steps open asks you first.
The owner (signed in with the owner password, not the desk key) can override a required checklist with a note. The note is kept on the ticket.
